Collages

In Kathleen’s collages, she re-configures found images with her own photography to create images that are strongly representational political narratives that both approach the dire need to preserve our precious planet and the environment as well as women’s issues. In addition, Kathleen’s collages seek to connect the viewer with the themes of loss, loneliness, and isolation in a world that has given us myriad ways in which to communicate but has also severely separated us and rendered us unable to voice our truths. Kathleen’s background in poetry and fiction writing inform the metaphorical and narrative aspects of her collages. Her work with traumatized populations, veterans, women in prison, homeless teen mothers, and women seeking to cease allowing past trauma define them influences many of her collages.
